In support of one of our values, namely, COMMUNITY, we have established the Phoenix Project.

Our aim is to introduce 6 boys and girls (ages 9 to 11 years) to the sport of squash and to coach, mentor and develop them to become players of the future.

Our children are selected from the Durbanville Children’s Home which is one of the oldest children’s homes in South Africa, and has been operating for 139 years dating back to 1883.  It is a registered institution of care and is currently tasked with looking after more than 144 children who are placed there by court orders.  Their ultimate goal is to restore children to a healthy, caring family environment.

We know that our members and the greater Durbanville Squash community will support us in our endeavours. We would appreciate any donations you may consider.  Our children need squash clothing (t-shirt / shorts / socks), shoes, grips, balls, racquets and safety glasses.

We will also gratefully accept ‘gently used’ items.  You may leave these with our club manager (Shaun Venter) or place the items in the box provided.

Monetary donations are also welcome so that we may fund unexpected expenses.  If anyone would like to sponsor all expenses for a child, we expect the cost per child to be in the region of R1300 which will provide that child with all sporting equipment and clothing needed to get started.

Please follow this link to view our payment options page. Please use payment reference: Phoenix Project.

This little group is trained every Friday from 15h30 and you are welcome to meet and cheer them on!

Thank you for your support!
