Legends Social Tournament

Organizers: Rob Stevenson, Gawie du Plessis and Paul Hansen

When do they play: On the first Saturday of each month

Starting Time: 10:15

Ending Time: Typically around 17:00

Cost: Lights are sponsored by the Club

Who may join: Members of any squash club. (Must be a member of a club.)

How to join: Participants are enrolled via the WhatsApp group. Contact Shaun Venter

Format:

• 20 people play in a Legends Tournament
• The tournament is setup as Swiss Pair
• Opponents are randomly matched at the start of the tournament
• Games last 8 minutes, the player with the highest score wins
• Scores are captured to determine the winner at the end of the day

Facilities:

• The Club bar is open
• There is generally always a fire going after the tournament. Bring your meat and enjoy!

Sunday Funday

Organizers: Theo Engelbrecht, Shaun Venter

When do they play: Every Sunday

Starting Time: 16:15

Ending Time: Typically at 17:45

Cost: 15 court sessions are sponsored by the club per month

Who may join: All members of Durbanville Squash Club

How to join: Members can arrive at the court on any Sunday. You may need to book a court to join in. Contact Shaun Venter

Format:

• Games last 10 minutes
• Winners move up courts until they reach court 1.
• Weaker players will always end up playing on court 4 or 5, stronger player will always end up on court 1 or 2
• If there are enough players, kings will be played where the winner moves to another court and the loser (lowest score) moves down a court.

• None

New Member Saturdays

Organizers: Paul Hansen, Shaun Venter

When do they play: On the last Saturday of each month

Starting Time: 08:45

Ending Time: Typically at 09:30

Cost: Lights are sponsored by the Club

Who may join: New members of Durbanville Squash Club who have joined in the past 60 days

How to join: New members can arrive on a Saturday to play and learn more about the Club. Contact Shaun Venter

Format:

• Games last 10 minutes
• Winners move up courts until they reach court 1.
• Weaker players will always end up playing on court 4 or 5, stronger player will always end up on court 1 or 2
• Kings will be played if there are enough players

Facilities:

• Coffee and light snacks will be served

Avalon Ladies Social

When do they play: Every Monday

Starting Time: 17:45

Ending Time: Typically at 20:00

Cost: 15 court sessions are sponsored by the club per month

Who may join: Members of the Avalon Ladies social squash group
